Successful collaboration with Heinrich-Hertz-Schule in Karlsruhe
Filled with Passion and Fun Saving energy and using it in the best possible way are two topics of ever greater importance. Stefan Hatz and Markus Liebmann, two graduates of the Heinrich-Hertz-Schule technical school in Karlsruhe, Germany, worked intently on these topics as part of their final project. In this project, they received valuable support from STOBER. The manufacturer and developer not only offered them the option of producing their final project, two STOBER engineers were also available to help with all their questions and provided the necessary equipment. On November 21, the aspiring technicians presented their didactic model to the school.
In light of the motto "better safe than sorry," last week, STOBER presented the new SE6 safety module at the SPS IPC Drives trade fair in Nuremberg.
"We are very happy about the lively interest in and positive feedback on our new solution. The further development of our expertise in drive technology is a great pleasure to me and an important step to us. On this basis, we have great expectations going forward and are excited about forthcoming projects with our customers," says Patrick Stöber.

Powerful module for safety-related applications complements the SD6 drive controller
The SD6 is a flexible stand-alone drive controller in the STOBER product range which is suitable for complex requirements and tasks in automation technology and mechanical engineering. The SE6 safety module is a new addition. In addition to the Safe torque off (STO) safety function, it provides the SD6 drive controller with other drive-based safety functions from EN 61800-5-2 at the highest level of safety—including extensive stop and monitoring functions. It also features a fast worst case response time as well as flexible, manufacturer-neutral interfaces. Together with integrated brake management for up to two brakes, the practice-oriented SD6 fulfills German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) requirements for gravity-loaded vertical axes.
To kick-off the summer holidays, STOBER held an event to reward students who excelled in mathematics during the school year. Students visited the company in Pforzheim with their final grades to pick up a surprise present. It was the eighth consecutive year STOBER recognized outstanding students.
STOBER jersey on, helmet on and on your bikes! That was the rallying call when the annual ‘STOBER in Motion’ mountain bike event rolled out for this year’s round. Organised for employees by employees, ‘STOBER in Motion’ is a mix cycle race and team event and 2018 was the 13th consecutive event. This year 51 STOBER colleagues took part on mountain and e-bikes, riding the 58 kilometers from Enzklösterle to the Kupferhammer in Pforzheim.
Patrick Stöber, managing director of STOBER, says, "The event is a welcome change to everyday life, combining friendly competition with having a great time. Everyone meets informally, away from the day-to-day business and uses the event to get to know each other better. It’s perfect for team building and sore muscles are guaranteed."
Girls' Day is a nationwide action day for career orientation and life planning for girls. The aim is to introduce them to occupations in the field of technology in which women are rarely represented up to now.
The encoderless LeanMotor from STOBER is a world-first on the market. The expert manufacturer produces the rotors for this extra-efficient drive solution at its headquarters in Pforzheim, Germany using a fully-automated robotic component mounting system. The complete automation of this system is based on the latest technology developed in-house as well as on the STOBER AS6 AutomationControlSuite development environment.STOBER is able to implement an immense variety of applications thanks to the components in its extensive portfolio.
The 6th generation of STOBER drive controllers provide the right solution for the increasingly complex requirements and functions in automation technology and machine engineering. New to the range is the SC6 stand-alone device, which enables extremely compact and economical application designs with up to four axes thanks to its integrated power supply and narrow structure. Design engineers now have access to three series from STOBER which they can combine and, that way, implement any conceivable task and a wide variety of applications. In addition to the new SC6, this includes the SI6 multi-axis drive controller and the flexible, extremely versatile SD6.
The new LeanMotor took center stage for STOBER at this year's SPS IPC Drives. "SPS IPC Drives is the most important trade show of the year for us," explains Patrick Stöber. "It is a joy to present a world first this year and to see this much interest. We got visitors, customers and partners excited about our new development and had a lot of very interesting conversations."
STOBER is bringing a new drive solution to the market with the LeanMotor, a solution that completely omits any positioning encoder. The motor has the same output while being significantly more compact and energy-efficient than an asynchronous drive and more rugged and cost-efficient than a servo drive.

It is cool, rainy and windy – usually the ideal day to stay at home and relax on the sofa. However, on Wednesday afternoon numerous students came to the premises of "Stöber Antriebstechnik" in Pforzheim. Once again this year the company had presents for those students who managed to get the top grade of 1 for mathematics in their end of year school report.
Under the name of SI6, STOBER presents its latest drive controller in multi-axis drive system. The most significant feature: The extremely compact design. With a width of only 45 mm, the SI6 requires extremely little space in the control cabinet. At the same time, a surprising number of useful features are integrated in the SI6 STOBER drive controller.

High-tech Donation for the Pforzheim (Germany) Theater
A successful theater production requires professional work on stage as well as highly sensitive technology behind the scenes. To support the theater, Stober, the company from Pforzheim, has donated a turntable drive with electronic controller to the theater on Waisenhausplatz.
STOBER AS6 AutomationControlSuite – the engineering tool
The development system is based on CODESYS framework V 22.214.171.124and includes numerous functionality for HMI, PLC and Motion Control. The Drive&Motion libs of STOBER are included for the efficient programming of a machine corresponding to IEC 61131-3. To use them in an easy way they are documented with the newest standard of CODESYS. A numerous amount of examples for CNC (DIN 66025), Motion Control und Drives are included.
Even more processor power for even higher performance in demanding multi-axis mode. For this application profile, STOBER has added the new high-performance Motion Controller MC6xx5 to the MC6 product program.
New additions to the family of innovative hollow shaft drives and screw drives from STOBER
The focus here is on the EZHD synchronous servo motor with hollow shaft that with its new bearing technology in all versions can offer a far higher shaft load than to date as well as an integrated brake. With the newly added size 4, STOBER is rounding out the bottom end of the program. The outstanding feature of these motors is the exceptionally large inside diameter of the hollow shaft flange that is ideally suited for the lead-through of energy and media of all kinds.
