What do process mechanics for coating technology do?
As a process mechanic, you operate and monitor modern coating systems and learn how to properly pre- and post-treat surfaces. Using techniques such as sanding, filling, or polishing—as well as performing quality checks—you’ll quickly become skilled in independently operating machinery and painting gear units.
Typical content and tasks during the apprenticeship:
- Operating and monitoring manual and automatic coating systems for wood, metal, and plastic
- Pre- and post-treating uncoated and coated surfaces
- Learning various manufacturing techniques: sanding, filling, polishing
- Performing quality control and recording measurements
- Gradually taking on responsibility by independently operating systems and painting gear units
